The activities of both portals are also subject to the governance and standards of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
2.Specialist Pharmacy Website and Specialist Pharmacy Portals
The availability of the Specialist Pharmacy website and both the Prescriber and Patient Portals are not guaranteed. Whilst we endeavour to keep these services running at all times, there may be occasions when one or all are not available.
We cannot guarantee that the website and portals are free from malicious or harmful software. As such, we recommend that all users have up-to-date security systems to protect their own machines.
Patients can use the Patient Portal to order and pay for prescriptions.
Prescribers cannot use the Prescriber Portal to order or pay for medications through the Prescriber Portal.
The Specialist Pharmacy has prepared the content of its website and portals in good faith.
The website content does not seek to provide or replace medical advice.
Patients are responsible for obtaining advice from a qualified healthcare professional before deciding which products and treatments are appropriate for their particular needs.
We use reasonable care to ensure that we keep the product information displayed on the website, including pricing, up-to-date and relevant.
Back office personnel cannot search, view, or edit a patient’s personal data.
Back office personnel may need to access drug orders and can view these.
Certain personal details must be entered into the Specialist Pharmacy Patient Portal in order for an account to be created.
Some of these personal details are required to be accessed by the prescriber for the prescription process to proceed.
The patient must confirm their consent for a named prescriber to access their details. (Name, date of birth, etc.) Prescribers cannot view patient details until consent has been given.
If a patient does not wish to allow the prescriber access to these details, they can decline access. However, this will affect the prescription process.
Certain personal and professional details are required to be entered into the Specialist Prescriber Portal in order for the portal to verify your position as a prescriber and to allow you necessary access to create prescriptions.
A prescriber may only proceed with adding a patient to their list with the express consent of the patient. Even if this means that the prescription process cannot continue.
A prescriber cannot view a patient’s details without consent.
Prescribers can search for existing patients by entering personal details into the search tool. (Name, DOB, etc.)
Prescribers can search for and view existing prescriptions they have created.
Prescribers and pharmacists can access patient details from SPED/Filemaker.
By using this website, the Prescriber Portal, or Patient Portal, users acknowledge and agree that The Specialist Pharmacy owns all copyright, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights for the content of its website and portals.
Unless The Specialist Pharmacy has provided express written permission, use of these materials is prohibited for commercial purposes. This includes copying, reproducing, publishing, editing, modifying or distributing the material.
Graphics, illustrations, photographs and videos must be accompanied by their original text.
Materials may be used for non-commercial purposes, such as personal reference. Where material is passed to third parties, The Specialist Pharmacy must be credited as the originator and author of this material.
The Specialist Pharmacy will provide a list of registered trademarks upon request.
